Faruku Bande

I hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with additional MSc and PhD qualifications in  the area of virology. Over the years my interest is to use the new generation technology in understanding the mechanism for avian viral genetic diversity, virulence and immune responses. In particular, recent focus seek to explore indegenious viral variants whose identify has not been fully unravelled in African poultry. This is to enhance the efficiency of diagnostic assays and improve vaccines used for the control of economically important poultry viral diseases for sustainable develpment in Africa.
